PFSweb uses a customized Distribution Resource Planning (DRP) module coupled with Radio Frequency-directed picking to fulfill orders. The module directs the operator to picking locations in a logical pick sequence. This system offers batch and zone picking from a wide range of SKUs and high efficiency rates for slower-moving items. Our DRP module enables our distribution team to utilise the most efficient and accurate picking method for fulfilling client orders based on their needs.
We print orders on a custom pick ticket containing the client logo. Return shipping instructions can be printed on each ticket, and terms and conditions are typically printed on the back. Our technology directs the picker to take any additional, special handling steps required for the order that may include:
- Scanning lot or serial numbers
- Expiration date capture
- Advanced shipping notices
- Multi-carton bundling
- Weighing product utilizing scaling systems
- Customs documentation for international shipments
We maintain high accuracy levels using system flags and order selection technology that guide our staff in correctly picking, packing and shipping all variety of products in multiple packaging (envelopes, parcels, pallets & customized packaging) within the scheduled times. Our system directs exception processes like marketing inserts, bundling, special packaging and wrapping for fragile items, as well as a variety of special instructions for shipping non-conveyable products.
