PFSweb offers full-scale, client-specific returns management programs, linking returns processing in real-time to the inventory management system. Returns are entered into the system upon receipt of the product, at which time a client-specific set of standards regarding restocking and disposal or warranty is applied.
PFSweb manifests each return package for tracking purposes and rotates stock back to our clients or vendors as directed. We typically process returns within one business day from the time the returned package is received into the PFSweb Belgium facility.
PFSweb's standard consumer packing slip includes “reason for return” paperwork and return shipping instructions. Return reason codes – which our client defines – are entered into the system as each return is processed to be used in reporting later.
PFSweb's consumer-direct automated returns process is highly flexible and efficient, and provides a full range of solution options including:
- Returns initiation can be web-, telephone-, mail-, or email-based to reach all customer demographics via our multilingual customer contact centre
- RMA generation and administration to meet client business rules
- Data collection and reporting helps pinpoint and address factors contributing to returns rates
- Inbound product tracking can include verification of condition, salability, reason for return
- Repair/Rework/Modification stations can be incorporated into the return path for streamlined operation or separated for offline bulk processing if required for greater efficiency

- Disposition based on client rules, coded into the system for accurate handling
- Web-based visibility of information online in real-time, and through scheduled data transfers
- Data links to any type of remote method: XML, ANSI EDI, EDIFACT, or standard text files exchanged using FTP
